Responsible Wool

Female-founded factory

We named this dress "Medeina" after the Baltic goddess of forests. With its mock neck and unique rib texture reminiscent of tree bark, the dress echoes the goddess's close affinity with the forest and the enchanting textures of ancient woodlands. Featuring a mock neck, high split, and tubular edge at the hems.

  • SUSTAINABILITY

We don't believe in deadstock. All of our Medeina dresses are produced in small batches at our our female-lead, female-run partner factory in Lithuania, overseen by Mrs Zina. All of her employees earn a living wage and are entitled to 4 weeks of annual paid leave, 24 months of paid maternity leave and paid sick leave. You'll get a card with your order telling you exactly who knitted your garment and a little about them.

For the dress, we use only cashmere-like Merino wool that's certified as cruelty free, with no microplastics and no harmful or irritant chemicals used.

We source our Merino wool from Italy, where it's spun and dyed in-house by our Italian suppliers.

MADE AT MRS. ZINA'S

For this knit we partnered up with a family-run knitwear factory in Šiauliai, a small town in Northern Lithuania. The owner of the factory is Mrs. Zina who founded the company over 30 years ago. Growing up she always dreamt of becoming an orchestra conductor, but running a factory as beautifully as she does might not be that far off. Today Mrs. Zina employs over 20 women from the local community who all refer to her as a mother figure. All her employees earn a living wage and are entitled to 4 weeks of annual paid leave, 24 months of paid maternity leave and paid sick leave.
